Minor in Theatre and Performance Studies
The theatre and performance studies minor is intended for students who want a balanced theatre experience, without the full experience of the theatre major. The flexibility of the minor provides students with a broad-based theatre education that balances theatre and performance theory, and practice.
Program Requirements and Policies
The Minor in Theatre and Performance studies requires a minimum of five courses taken in the department
Course Requirements
- One of the following foundational courses:
- TPS 01: Introduction to Theatre
- TPS 02: Foundations in Theatre: Process, Performance and Production
- TPS 10: Ancient and Medieval Theatre (May count for the classes of 2021-2023 only)
- TPS 11: Early Modern Theatre (May count for the classes of 2021-2023 only)
- TPS 12: Modern and Postmodern Theatre (May count for the classes of 2021-2023 only)
- TPS: From Page to Stage (May count for the classes of 2022-2024 only)
- One Theory, Culture, History Course from list Major Section 2
- 9 credits of specialization/elective
- 1 credit of stage production experience by taking either:
- TPS 80: Production Run Crew
- TPS 81: Production Run Crew
