Minor in Theatre and Performance Studies
The theatre and performance studies minor is intended for students who want a balanced theatre experience, without the full experience of the major. The flexibility of the minor provides students with a broad-based theatre and performance studies education that balances theatre and performance theory, and practice.
Program Requirements and Policies
The Minor in Theatre and Performance studies requires a minimum of five courses taken in the department
Course Requirements
- Foundational Course: 3 Credits (ideally taken 1st or 2nd year) from list Minor Section I
- Theory, Culture, and History: 3 Credits from list Minor Section II
- 3 Credits may cover exclusively Film/TV/other media (FMS and SMFA courses)
- Production Crew: 1 Credit of either TPS 81 Production Run Crew or DNC 60 Dance Production Practicum
- Electives/Specialization: 9 Credits chosen in consultation with the student’s minor adviser
- May include up to 2 Credits of practicums
